Why Elevate Law exists
I started Elevate Law because I was frustrated with how traditional law firms work with startups.
After years of practicing law and working with founders, I kept seeing the same problems: unpredictable bills, slow response times, and lawyers who treated early-stage startups like they were Fortune 500 companies with unlimited budgets.
Founders would come to me stressed about legal costs, confused by jargon-filled emails, and anxious about making the wrong decision. They'd delay critical legal work because they couldn't afford the uncertainty of hourly billing.
I realized the problem wasn't that startups couldn't afford legal help. The problem was that traditional law firms weren't designed for startups.
So I built Elevate Law around three simple principles: flat fees so you know what you'll pay, fast turnaround because you can't wait weeks for documents, and plain English because legal doesn't have to be complicated.
Over the past several years, I've helped dozens of founders navigate the critical early stages of company formation, from first incorporation through trademark protection to funding rounds. I teach entrepreneurship law at Boston College and Northeastern, which keeps me connected to the next generation of founders and ensures I'm always thinking about how to explain complex legal concepts in ways that actually make sense.
